1. Training Objectives

The Doctoral program in Finance – Banking at the University of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City aims to train lecturers and researchers with strong ethical qualities, in-depth knowledge in the field of Finance and Banking, and the ability to teach at the postgraduate level. Graduates are expected to conduct independent and creative research, identify and solve new problems arising from practice, supervise scientific research, and provide scholarly recommendations.

4. Duration of Study

  • Designed duration: 3 years.
  • Maximum completion time: The maximum time allowed to complete the program, including the designed duration and any permitted extension, is regulated by the Postgraduate Training Regulations (issued with Decision No. 1279/QĐ-DCT dated April 26, 2024, by the Rector of University of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City).

5. Degree Awarded

The Doctoral degree is awarded to learners who complete the training program, accumulate the required credits, and meet all conditions for graduation as stipulated in the University’s Postgraduate Training Regulations.

6. Entry Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in a field/major relevant to Finance – Banking.

- Master’s degree in a field/major relevant to Finance – Banking.

- Master’s degree in a field/major closely related to Finance – Banking, including majors within the economics, business, and management groups listed in the National Education and Training Catalogue for Master’s and Doctoral levels (issued under Circular No. 09/2022/TT-BGDĐT dated June 6, 2022, by the Minister of Education and Training).

7. Methods of Academic Assessment

According to the Postgraduate Training Regulations (issued with Decision No. 1279/QĐ-DCT dated April 26, 2024) and the Regulations on Examinations, Tests, and Academic Assessment (issued with Decision No. 2402/QĐ-DCT dated August 22, 2023) by the Rector of University of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City.

8. Training Regulations and Graduation Conditions

Graduation is assessed and recognized in accordance with the Postgraduate Training Regulations (Decision No. 1279/QĐ-DCT dated April 26, 2024, by the Rector of University of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City).

9. Career Opportunities after Graduation

Graduates are equipped to participate in scientific research activities and are capable of leading research projects in fields related to Finance – Banking.

Graduates can serve as teaching and research staff in universities, research centers, institutes, and other academic institutions in the field of Finance – Banking.

Graduates may also work as professional consultants or leaders in business organizations and other institutions, both domestically and internationally.
